I may be wrong but did not this printer also have a micdoline port and if so, I hope you are plugging the cable into the right port. The printer okidata microline 184 turbo not print in parallel with the serial card installed. Also just a thought is to make sure the on-line light is on.
They all do the self test ok but I can’t get them to print through the parallel port. I did manage to get a serial printer working today. Did you try another printer on lpt 1 and did it work? I did read the okidata microline 184 turbo manual.
I have tried 3 different cables as well as numerous printers. You really do not want to try to get it working with the serial cable. If it does not, then you have an issue with the okidata microline 184 turbo, port on the computer or the interface on the printer.

I’ve tried changing the internal dip switch settings. Thanks for your help dmzcompute. Really difficult with modern computers and you have okidata microline 184 turbo know what the dip switch settings are for baud, polarity, etc.
Okidata doesn’t provide a driver because one is included with Win XP.
